  2. Hate that side entry. You can see right in the bedroom.

  3. Moving the door will definitely improve the front. You may want to
    extend the front overhang a bit to protect the new front door. Maybe some brackets or columns at each side and a 3′ to 4′ landing.

  4. I like Kanda’s idea to extend the overhang. If you’re going for a craftsman feel, square columns would be cool. That overhang will protect all us visitors from the rain when we are waiting at the door. And how about shutters instead of curtains for the bedroom window?
